Today we reread Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and read Chicka Chicka 123. Then we made either an apple tree or coconut tree based off of what book we liked better. Finally we graphed it and analyzed our data.

Dino Week Wrap Up

On Friday we ended our dinosaur unit by learning about a T-Rex.
We made a T-Rex foot then put all of our shoes in it...this is what we found out below.

The T-Rex foot is 3 feet long. We put 28 shoes inside but we didn't fill it up!

Here is what the children did for jobs:

How Many Bony Plates- here the children had to pick a dino, count it's plates and finish the sentence on their sheet.

Find the Missing Number- Here the children had to look inside a dinosaur's mouth and figure out the missing numbers and write them on their sheet.

Dino Matching- here the children had to pick a dinosaur that had an upper case letter and find it's matching lower case letter on their sheet.

Dino Measuring- here the children had to use cubes and measure different size dinosaurs.

DinoSAURS

The children are having a blast learning about dinosaurs this week.

On Tuesday we learned about brachiosaurus.
  • We learned it was one of the biggest dinosaurs, but also one of the gentlest.
  • It was the size of a house and had a tiny head at the end of a long neck.
  • Its man food was leaves and twigs which made it a herbivore.
  • It spend all its time eating to feed its enormous body.
  •
Yesterday we learned about triceratops.
  • It had three horns on its head that made it look like a rhinoceros.
  • It was a plant eater.
  • It used its horns to fight off meat eaters.
  •
After each lesson the children had a great time making each dinosaur. Then we used them to decorate our last door of the year...sad!
We're stomping to Kindergarten!
