Sweet Mrs. Cathy

A year ago today Heaven received a wonderful angel and Holy Rosary received a guardian angel, Cathy Pinter. For those of you who where never blessed to know her, she was an amazing person. She worked at HR for many years. She was an aid in 3K for most of her time at HR and spent her last two years in 4K with Mrs. Roxanne. Not a day goes by that I don't think of her and see her smiling face in the halls. She will always be missed but I know she is looking down on us. I'm just so thankful that I had the opportunity to know such a loving, gentle, and sweet person.

Today we celebrated her memory by saying a prayer around the Dogwood tree that was planted in her memory outside Mrs. Roxanne's window and we did a balloon release.

Dancing

Sooooo I have to admit that I love to dance, now I'm not good at it but I love it. Therefore we do a lot of "dance parties" in the classroom. Yesterday we danced to Tooy Ta. If you have never heard this song you have to google Dr. Jean's Tooty Ta and have your child dance...it's adorable.

Today the children decided that they wanted to dance instead of going to centers, so we had a 45 minute long dance party.

Career on Wheels

Yesterday was Career on Wheels and we had fun. Here are some pictures...

Garden

This week we have been learning about gardens and Spring.

On Monday we learned about what a plant needs to grow by reading the story Grow Flower Grow. It's a cute story about a girl, Fran, who finds a flower and feeds it pizza, popcorn, ice cream, etc but the flower doesn't grow. She throws the flower outside where it gets sun, water, and wind. One day she goes outside to find that her flower has grown. We then talked more about what the plant needed to grow.

Then we learned about the different parts of a flower and there purpose. Then we made a flower.

Yesterday we switch gears and talked about Spring. We talked about some symbols of Spring like an....
 BUNNY!!!
They turned out SO cute that we used them for our Spring bulletin board.

Today we watched a video about one seed. The video taught us that it only takes one seed to grow a big tree and for the children to remember that next time they sit under a tree.

Then we discussed the tools that we would need to plant a seed and made garden buddies.

We are having fun learning about flowers and can't wait to see what else we learn.

Tomorrow is Career on Wheels. The children will get to see some fun vehicles...I can't wait!!!

Rainbows

On Friday we ended our St. Patrick's Day week by talking about rainbows and how a rainbow is a sign of God's promise. We talked about how the next time we see a rainbow we will think of Noah and the flood. We will remember that God loves us, and that no matter how bad the storm, there will always come a bright new day.

Morning Time

Friday morning we did something new that the children LOVED. I gave each table a big piece of butcher paper and let them color it together...I know something SO simple but the children did a great job working together.

A Peek at our Jobs

Here is a peek at the jobs that the children have worked so hard to complete this week:
Color a leprechaun- at this job the children had to use the key at the bottom of the page to color the leprechaun.

Shamrock Patterns- For this job the children had to copy and finish patterns.

Shamrock Measuring- At this job the children used cubes to measure shamrocks

What Number Comes Next- For this job the children had to pick a number and figure out what numbers come next.

They all did a fantastic job!

I'M BACK!!!!

Yesterday was my first day and I have to say that I'm SO excited and happy to be back. I miss seeing these sweet faces everyday.

I was extremely exhausted yesterday and feeling it even more today, thanks to my little man not sleeping through the night, but I know I will get use to this new schedule fast.

I hopped right back into the swing of things as soon as I walked into the classroom. We kicked off our week learning about St. Patrick and how he used a shamrock to teach the people of Ireland about the Trinity. Then the children did an amazing job making a Trinity shamrock.
We also learned about how he drove all the snakes out of Ireland.

Today we read a funny book about Leprechauns. Then the children had a blast making these adorable ones:

Tomorrow we will go on a color hunt and read some more fun books.

Here are a few recent pictures of my sweet angel from our beach trip last week.
