Thank you SOOOO much to everyone who donated food to make our feast so wonderful!

Thanksgiving

Today we started our VERY short unit on Thanksgiving.

This morning we made some adorable turkey headbands for our feast.

Gooble Gooble

Then we read a Thanksgiving story...

and made the Mayflower.

Now we are getting ready for our feast....yummmmmm!!!

Fairy Tale Wrap Up

I have to say that I LOVE our fairy tale unit and hope the children did too.

Here is a wrap up of our fun week:

On Wednesday Mrs. Schmitz came and did a guidance lesson with the children.

Thursday we drew a castle and then colored it. This was a fun craft as the children didn't know what they were drawing at first. They had to listen to my directions as I told them what to draw.

Then we ate fancy cakes...yummy!!!

Friday was a super busy day.

We started our day by watching the story The Wizard of Oz.

We made ruby slippers.

We graphed our favorite Wizard of Oz character...the lion won!!
Then we watched the story of Little Red Riding Hood.

We talked about real and make believe and made a list.

We ended with making Red Riding Hood
Since we didn't have recess because of the weather we had a shaving cream party!

This was the perfect way to end our day!

Then we talked about what it would be like to have a fairy godmother and a magic wand.

Today we watched the story Princess and a Pea.

Then we made our own princess and pea.

I can't wait to read more fairy tales.

Nursery Rhyme Wrap Up

Last week we ended our nursery rhyme unit by learning more about rhyming words.

We gave examples of rhyming words and then looked at the words cat, dog, pig, and pot. Then the children each received a word and took turns coming up and figuring out what it rhymed with. They all did a great job!

Here is a peek at the jobs the children completed.
