Farm Week

I have been a slacker this week on posting and I'm sorry but here we go.
On Monday we started our week talking about farmers and farm animals.
Tuesday we learned about cows and watched a video on where milk comes from.

On Wednesday we learned some fun facts about goats to prepare us to meet Frosty and Rue. The children had a blast feeding and petting them. Here are some pictures that I took:

Today we learned about chickens and Mrs. Schmitz did a guidance lesson with the children on empathy.

Tomorrow we will wrap up our fun farm week talking about pigs and reading Ms. Wishy Washy.

Apple Wrap Up

I'm said to say that our apple unit is over. This is one of my favorite units because of all the fun things we learn and the crafts that we get to do but I'm ready for our farm week (another one of my favorites).

On Thursday the children finished their apple theme jobs for the week. Here are some pictures:

Apple Tree Counting- For this job the children counted apples and practiced writing the number on their sheet.

Apple Letters- Here the children picked a letter and practiced writing the letter on their sheet.

Apple Sorting- At this job the children sorted apples and graphed it on their sheet.

What A will win?- Here the children rolled a die and graphed which A they rolled.
On Friday we ended our apple unit by having an apple festival. We had apples, apple butter, apple sauce, apple pie, apple strudel, apple muffins, apple juice, apple cider, apple jacks, and apple cookies. It was all delicious. Thanks you again to everyone who donated an item for our fun festival.

On Friday we also made adorable scarecrow (I forgot to take a picture but I will on Monday) and Q-tip fall trees.
I love the way the trees turned out!
I also wanted to share a picture of our adorable fall door.
And if you look to the right you will notice the amazing sign the a fellow teacher, Mrs. Joy made for me.
Another amazing week is over and now I'm ready to learn about farm animals and to get a special visit from two goats next week. Man I love my job!!!

More Apples

Here is some more apple fun from this week!

On Wednesday we learned about the life cycle of an apple by watching a video on the Smart Board. Then the children made this adorable life cycle craft.
Yesterday we learned about autumn/fall by reading a story. Then we completed the graph below.
Yesterday the children made these "a" apples.
I love apple week and can't wait for our apple festival!

Then the children made their own apple and labeled the parts.

Apple Unit

Today we started our unit on Apples. We read the story Johnny Appleseed and the children made themselves as Johnny Appleseed.

The children also made "A" alligators as we learned the sound an "A" makes and how to write it.

We had a great Monday!!!

H Week Wrap Up

On Friday we ended our unit on Feelings by reading the story Sometimes I Feel Green. Then we completed the chart When something is bugging me I can say...

The children did a great job!!!

We also talked about the Holy Spirit this week. We discussed how it's everywhere but we can't see it, just like the wind. Then the children made a dove to remind them of the Holy Spirit.

Weekly Jobs

Here is a peek at the jobs that the children have been working very hard on this week:
ABC Hunt- here the children had to pull a letter magnet out the trash can, find it on their sheet, and color it.

At this job the children had to sort happy and sad faces.

What H will win?- for this job the children rolled a die with a lower and upper case H. Then they graphed it on their sheet to see which one would win.

Number Links- For this job the children had to pick a number card and put that many links of their paper.
